Case Study

Communications Tower Group (CTG)

Communications Tower Group (CTG), a Charlotte NC-headquartered cellphone tower platform, was launched by Indigo Capital, MCM Communications and its CEO to develop, own and operate wireless infrastructure in the Mid-Atlantic and Southern U.S. CTG distinguishes itself in the market by its highly capable and experienced management team, its creative solutions to difficult locations, extensive market intelligence, hands-on approach to site acquisition, and superior radio frequency and structural engineering capabilities that generated a highly attractive tower portfolio..

2018 - 2019

Indigo Capital invests in CTG

After deploying an initial equity round from the Founders to establish a base of quality towers in the Mid-Atlantic and Southern U.S., CTG secures a $51 million funding commitment anchored by Indigo Capital and another leading NY-based private equity fund co-investing during a 20-month period through July 2022.

2020 - 2022

CTG enters a period of rapid growth

CTG grows its tower portfolio, the vast majority of which are greenfield developments. Our team is disciplined and focuses on premium locations, quality assets over quantity, pursuing selective, difficult sites with strong co-location potential in growing markets.

December 2022

CTG sell its assets to Everest Infrastructure Partners

During our 20-month average investment period, CTG doubles the number of towers in its portfolio and increases Tower Cash Flow (TCF) by 195%.

In December 2022, Everest Infrastructure Partners acquires the assets of CTG across 10 states in the Southeast and Midwest regions at a very attractive TCF multiple. We retain the entity, CEO and management team in order to launch CTG II in 1Q2023.
